What happens
Open Hack is an unstructured evening of working on whatever you want next to other people who write code. Bring a side project, homework, your day job, or nothing at all. Plenty of people just come to talk.
There are no talks, no agenda, and nobody checks your résumé at the door. If you’re stuck on something, say so out loud; someone in the room has probably hit the same wall.
Use any language or framework. Work on something open-source, personal or for a client. You don’t need an idea to show up; you can sit down next to someone else and join in on theirs. We start with a quick round of introductions, so you can say who you are, what you’re working on, and whether you’d like a hand. After that it’s heads-down, or talking, or both.
Developers and designers of every skill level, background and age are welcome. Open Hack is free, run by volunteers through CODES, a Syracuse nonprofit, and hosted by a local business that provides the space. Everyone who comes agrees to our code of conduct.
